Thought I would come out of blog seclusion and share a quick post today.
This might be a good one if you have ever wished you could send a bowl of soup to someone who could use a pick-me-up.
Since my kids couldn’t be here, they thoughtfully sent me a gift that they knew I would enjoy. It’s called a Spoonful of Comfort , a meal in a box that arrives ready to heat, refrigerate or freeze.
This package included the “hearty and heartwarming Garden Vegetable Soup,” six dinner rolls, six triple chocolate chunk cookies, a ladle and special Mother’s Day spoon. I did not wait for Mother’s Day. Every bite was yummy. The soup is a chunky tomato-based broth with carrots, celery, onions, beans, zucchini and herbs. (It is vegan, and there are two 32-ounce tubs in the package.) Very warming and, I have to say, heartwarming.
It’s not a visit, but it does bring back sweet memories of soup dinners that we had when the kids were young. Chicken soup was my standard go-to for winter days, as well as colds and sore throats. I have a few other favorite soup recipes that may well come up in future blogs, but receiving a delivery of soup has its own charm.
My daughter gifted this once before, after I’d had a surgery, sending chicken soup. Now that I’ve had both chicken and veggie, I can say this is a gift that gets my stamp of approval.
I would definitely recommend. There are a number of other soup and care package options. Packaging is adorable and recyclable. This product arrives cold and needs to be refrigerated or frozen on arrival.
Thanks for the sweet gift, kids!
